I suspect this photo was likely taken Christmas 1917 as possibly the last chance for a complete family photo.
George (my grandfather) received his Canadian army draft notice in the Fall 1917, received his army medical 14 November 1917
and was enrolled 7 January 1918 in the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
